Commonwealth plan adds new Pennsylvania real estate opportunities

Five properties from the Pennsylvania state inventory will soon be up for sale after recent approval of the 2012 Real Property Disposition Plan. The five pieces of new real estate will add to a plan hoping to save money and generate revenue for the commonwealth by putting these properties onto local tax rolls.

New Pennsylvania real estate law bans private transfer fees

Recently, legislative developments have changed an important aspect of real estate law in Pennsylvania. Last month, Governor Corbett signed a bill that prohibits many private transfer fees in real estate transactions.

Brownfield redevelopment success at the Bethlehem Steel site

Broadly defined, a brownfield is a parcel of real estate that poses development challenges because of the presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant on the site. Commonly, brownfields are found on abandoned industrial sites.
